North Hills, CA -

(FOX 11 / CNS) A suspect led officers on a pursuit in a carjacked vehicle from the Santa Clarita area into Simi Valley and back into Los Angeles County today.

The chase began about 11:35 a.m. on the southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Ed Jacobs. The suspect then headed west on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway.

The car's owner reported that the vehicle had been carjacked, Jacobs said. The chase, which was continuing early this afternoon, hit speeds in excess of 100 mph at times, according to the CHP.

The suspect drove west into Ventura County, but then exited the freeway and immediately got back on the 118 Freeway heading eastbound.
