Baby hurt in Yonkers fire

YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) - Yonkers fire officials say an 8-year-old month girl was taken to a hospital after a fire in the bedroom where she was sleeping.

Assistant Fire Chief John Darcy tells the Journal News that a man in the apartment pulled the baby to safety on Tuesday night.

The little girl was believed to have second-degree burns on her face. The man was treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
