The now former Miss Delaware Teen USA is keeping a low profile after a sex tape scandal forced the beauty queen to resign.
Pageant officials told FOX 29 on Tuesday they received a resignation letter from Melissa King's attorney.
King is expected to issue a statement through her attorney at some point this week.
According to reports, King claims the woman featured in the video is not her.
FOX 29 spoke with a former pageant winner, who says she knew King and claims the resemblance between the beauty queen and the woman on the tape is uncanny.
"They are very, very similar, which gives me the impression that it is her," Kelsie Miller, Miss Delaware Teen USA 2009 said.
In the video, a woman tells an off camera interviewer that she just turned 19 three months ago in March, which is the month King was born.
The woman in the video then goes on to say she competes in the beauty pageants but doesn't say in which state.
Miller completed alongside King in November when King was crowned. She says she's saddened by the scandal and believes King was a driven woman who seemed to have the best intensions.
"She really wanted the title and to be a good role model that this title portrays," Miller said.
