NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The annual Queens County St. Patrick's Day Parade still displayed Irish pride in the Rockaways on Saturday despite the area still suffering from the effects of Superstorm Sandy.

The parade is one of several that take place every year in the five boroughs in particular the Rockaways, where there are several Irish-American neighborhoods, suffered a lot of devastation due to Superstorm Sandy on October 29.

Hundreds of marchers, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Council Speaker Christine Quinn, went through some blocks in the Belle Harbor neighborhood where fires caused by the storm burned down houses to charred shells.

The parade also made its way pass a block of burned stores in Rockaway Park.
