Talk radio host Curtis Sliwa weighs in on a nursing home refusing to perform CPR on an elderly woman.

A nurse at a retirement home in Bakersfield, Calif. asked for paramedics to come and help the woman who had collapsed in the home's dining room and was barely breathing.

The 911 operators pleads for the nurse to perform CPR, and after several refusals she starts pleading for her to find a resident, or a gardener, or anyone not employed by the home to get on the phone, take her instructions and help the woman.

The 87-year-old was later declared dead at Mercy Southwest Hospital, officials said.

"These corporations lawyer up and they say 'don't have any of your inexperienced personal put their hands on anyone.'  Are you a human being or are you just a robot?

In this case the woman should have done the right thing and attempted CPR."

Curtis Sliwa is the host of The Curtis Sliwa Show on AM 970 The Answer
