PHOENIX -
It's sure to go down in history as one of the biggest brawl's seen in baseball, and it happened right here in Phoenix.
A fight broke out Saturday between Team Canada and Team Mexico players during the final inning of their game at Chase Field.
Not only was the fight itself unforgettable, but fans can't stop talking about it.
The question is if the play that sparked the fight was disrespectful or was Team Canada simply doing what they needed to do to secure a win?
Bunting is when the batter holds the bat in the hitting zone and without swinging makes contact with the ball. It's a move that's against the unwritten rules of baseball when your team is up multiple runs late in the game.
Chris Robinson bunted while his team was up 9 to 3 in the 9th inning, a choice his teammate paid for.
Mexico's pitcher threw at the batter and sparked the brawl.
"They were winning by a lot of runs so there was no need for these guys to bunt," said Hector Villasana, a Team Mexico fan.
"Poor decision making on their part and I can completely see why the fight broke out," said Matthew Taylor, a Team Canada fan.
Unlike Major League Baseball, moving on in the world baseball classic isn't just about wins and losses. Every run is vital and can be difference between elimination and victory.
"In a normal setting, a 93 bunt in that situation would be out of the ordinary, but based on the rules the run differential that was talked about before that all those things may occur, things of that nature I think in the heat of the moment you lose sight of it," said Team Mexico Manager Rick Renteria.
"You cant hurt us Canadians," said Team Canada manager Ernie Whitt.
None of the players were suspended following the fight.
