PHILADELPHIA -

Members of the FBI in Philadelphia are searching for the suspect who robbed a Market Street bank Tuesday and is believed to be responsible for at least five other bank robberies.

The latest robbery happened Monday at the Republic Bank Branch on the 1800 block of Market Street in Center City.

The FBI says a man handed a teller a demand note and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The same man is believed to be behind five other bank robberies, including one at the same Republic Bank branch last month.

Investigators consider the man to be armed and dangerous.

The suspect is described as a black man in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 6' tall with a slender build and scruffy facial hair. The man was last seen wearing a black coat, jeans, sunglasses and a dark-colored knit cap with light brown work boots.

If you have any information that you think will help investigators, you're asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000.
