IHSA will review basketball teams' behavior

Posted: Updated:

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - The Illinois High School Association says both Harrisburg and Seton Academy could face probation or have coaches suspended after a confrontation during last Saturday's Class 2A boys state championship game.

IHSA Assistant Executive Director Matt Troha said Monday that events during the game in Peoria will be reviewed during the association's regular meeting this weekend. He said any punishment would likely be made public next week. Seton player Mark Weems Jr. was ejected for making contact with an official after he was called for a technical foul for unsportsmanlike conduct. But the IHSA said in a statement that it was embarrassed by both teams' behavior.

Harrisburg went on to win the game, 50-44.
