Plan For A Rainy Evening Commute For Philly & Surrounding Burbs

Posted: Updated:

Get out your rain boots!  A storm is moving into our area and it looks like we may see some heavy rain in the late afternoon hours.

Fox 29's Sue Serio tell us that we have a delayed start of the precipitation.   It now looks like 2:00 before we'll see significant rain/sleet/snow move in.  Anything before then will be very light.

Because of this, the changeover from snow/sleet to all rain should be quicker.  So, still mostly a rain event for the Metro area, south and east.

There is a Winter Weather Advisory for Lancaster County, Berks, the Lehigh Valley & the Poconos. Travel will be tricky in there areas, so drive safely. . An inch or two of slushy accumulation is expected.

The rain (snow/sleet far N & W) is heaviest during the evening commute into the overnight hours.

Precipitation tapers off in the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday.  We should be left with an inch or so of rain by the time all is said and done.
