Cat found alive in house devastated by plane crash

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Nearly a week after a small jet crashed into a South Bend, Indiana neighborhood, a pair of homes damaged in the accident have been torn down.

Before demolition started, crews went into the homes to grab any valuables they could find. Amazingly, one worker found a missing cat hiding in the walls of the home.

"It jumped out and jumped down into the corner and I didn't want the wrecking ball to hit it so I said to stop it immediately and jump down there and try to get it," Harvey Jackson said. "I got it and gave it to the next door neighbor."

The cat was taken to a vet and is expected to be just fine.
