'Fight club' at Bridgewater-Raritan High School

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

New Jersey school officials are investigating a possible fight club at Bridgewater-Raritan High School after several videos of fights among students were posted to Facebook.

The first of five videos were posted to a page called BRHS Fights on March 14. They include footage of a cafeteria brawl, fights outside the school and fistfights between girls.

The Superintendent of Schools tells the Bridgewater Patch that the district does not have jurisdiction over Facebook sites.

But students identified in the videos were given multi-day suspensions while officials attempt to identify more students seen in the videos.

BRHS is currently closed for spring break.  Students are expected back next Tuesday.

There were 16 deaths for all of 2013. Plans call for erecting a 9-foot fence to replace the current railing to make jumping from the bridge difficult.
