Skyfox cameras captured the frightening scene on the morning of March 13th.  It's a day this grandmother will never forget.

"I actually saw it on Fox 2.  And I saw Murphy School and I jumped up to go and pick up my grandbaby.  And the kindergartners were in front and they were just crying,"
says Alfreda Jemison.

The fire started inside the boy's locker room.

"I had thought that one of the middle school students had some matches or something," says Jemison.

But Detroit Arson Investigators proved the firebug wasn't a student it was an adult.  The school's student services assistant.  This hallway surveillance camera captures 21-year-old Raheem Warren going in and out of the boy's locker room. He runs down the hallway and minutes later comes back with a security guard as smoke billows into the hallway.

Then the alleged firebug acts as if he's the hero. He appears to radio for help and even evacuate students.  The fire quickly became too much for staff to handle and firefighters went to work with Warren standing by watching.

Sources say Warren initially denied having anything to do with the fire..but arson investigators got him to confess and arrested him Wednesday morning.  Thankfully no one was hurt and the school wasn't seriously damaged. But Warren could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

"That could have been really, really, dangerous.  It's dangerous enough but I mean someone could have been hurt, " says Jemison.

Raheem Warren was fired Wednesday morning.  He is facing criminal charges but school officials tell Fox 2 they hope this incident does not overshadow the good they are doing at the school.
