Teen Loses All Four Limbs To An Infection; Fundraiser Info

Posted: Updated:

An Orange County 18-year-old girl is in the hospital at UC Irvine undergoing skin grafts after losing all four of her limbs to a meningococcal infection.  The family of Kaitlin Dobrow is now hoping to raise money for the long term car she will be sure to need. Kaitlin was admitted to the hospital February 18 with a fever and rash, which then progressed to a full blown blood infection.  That has resulted in the amputation of all four limbs.

Hear from Dr. Nicole Bernal, a trauma and burn surgeon from UCI Medical Center, as well as Kaitlin's father, and one of her friends that has been beside her through this entire process.
