MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. -

More than 100 people got their last shave for 40 days as part of a benefit to honor fallen Plymouth Township police officer Brad Fox.

It was all part of a shave-off event held Monday night at the Lucky Dog Saloon and Grille in Lafayette Hill. Organizers invited participants, which included members of the Plymouth Township Police Department and other nearby departments, to come in and get their last clean shave before they begin to grow the best mustaches possible for the Brad Fox 'Stache Bash event in May.

Officer Fox was killed in the line of duty back in September. He left behind a wife and two small children. Last week, the Fox family announced the birth of Brad, Jr.

"Its been almost 30 years I've had the mustache and it's for a great cause," Detective Charles Swan of the Whitemarsh Township Police Department said. "My coworkers and friends were doing the same thing, so I thought, why not?"

Many of the participants who want to help the family said they believe Fox would have done the same for them.

Organizers of the "Brad Fox 'Stache Bash" say 100 percent of the money raised during the 40-day fundraiser will go to the Fox family. FOX 29's Stephanie Salvatore reports thus far, donations to the fundraiser's website topped $10,000.

FOX 29's Stephanie Salvatore will have a report Monday's event on the FOX 29 News at 10 p.m.
