Motorcycle crash shuts down part of Cactus Road

Posted: Updated:

Authorities shut down part of eastbound Cactus Road Tuesday morning following a deadly motorcycle crash near Cave Creek Road.

While two motorcyclists were riding on Cactus, one lost control and hit a curb.

Investigators say the 61-year-old man wasn't wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos says impairment is believed to be a factor in this collision.

The other rider was not injured and talked to the police.

No names have been released in this case.

The intersection remained closed during the investigation.
