DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

Detroit police officer Patrick Hill will be laid to rest Monday morning.

His funeral is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit.

Thousands of officers around the state are expected to come out to pay their respects.

The 37-year-old was accidentally shot in the head by another officer, during a confrontation with a suspect on April 2.

He died six months later, on October 19.  

Officer Hill was a 12 year veteran of the force.

He leaves behind a wife, and four children
