PHILADELPHIA -

A case nearly 20-years-old in Philadelphia in which a teenager was found dead was closed Monday after the district attorney's office said a man in Florida was charged with murder.

According to the DA, 46-year-old Rafael Crespo was charged with Murder, Rape, Sexual Assault and other related offenses in connection to the murder of 17-year-old Anjeanette Maldonado.

In the early morning of October 2, 1996, Philadelphia police responded to a home on the 1700 block of Hope Street, where they found Maldonado's body.

The DA says Crespo, who is a convicted offender in Florida, is currently behind bars at a correctional facility in Bowling Green.
