The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is offering a $2,500 reward for the arrest of the person responsible for seriously abusing a dog, the organization said.

PETA said the abused animal was found in a creek, tied to a rock as the water level rose higher. The dog was rescued by a passer-by but showed signs of long-term neglect. The dog had an untreated tumor on one of her back legs, eye infections, and was very thin from sickness and lack of food.

The dog is now in waiting adoption at the Bucks County SPCA, but police are still searching for the person who left the dog to drown in the creek. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bristol Police at 215-785-4040.
