PHILADELPHIA -

A 74-year-old man was placed in a choke hold and robbed of his $452 money order Tuesday around 11 a.m. at a South Broad Street check cashing business, police said.

Investigators are now searching for the suspect who robbed the man.

The robbery was reported around 11 a.m. at the United Check Cashing on the 600 block of South Broad Street.

Police say a man wearing a blue and white jacket with white stripes followed the victim, who had just left the check cashing business, put him in a choke hold and took the money order.

The man was last seen heading east on Fitzwater Street toward Broad Street.

If you have any information you're asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
