PHILADELPHIA -

A 24-year-old Philadelphia woman faces several charges after police say she walked into the rooms of patients at St. Christopher's Hospital and told them she would be performing physical examinations.

According to police, 24-year-old Ashley Delvalle faces Simple Assault, Indecent Assault and other related charges.

Police say on Tuesday, Delvalle entered the rooms of patients at the hospital. Police say she touched one child inappropriately and took the weight of another.

After being told of what was happening, hospital security guards were able to determine the woman was at the hospital with her child. Police say it was found that Delvalle did not hold the proper nurse's license required in Pennsylvania to perform the duties of either a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse.

In a statement, the hospital said it is cooperating with police.

"When we were informed by the patient's mother of the alleged assault, we immediately notified the Philadelphia Police Department and Philadelphia Department of Human Services. We are continuing to cooperate fully with the police investigation. The safety of our patients at St. Christopher's is our top priority and we are firmly committed to providing a secure environment for both patients and staff."

Bail was set at $50,000.
