CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A CTA employee who fell on the tracks Friday afternoon was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

A flagman was working on the tracks when they fell about 12:45 p.m., CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said. The worker did not make contact with the electrified third rail and was not hit by a train.

Other personnel helped the worker to a train, which took the employee to the Fullerton station, according to Hosinski, who did not know if it was a man or woman.

Paramedics took the employee to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Hosinksi said. Fire Media Affairs could not confirm the transport.

Some Brown and Red Line trains were delayed about 15 minutes, the CTA said.
