CLAYMONT, Del. -

Police in Delaware are searching for a woman who troopers say went in to several pharmacies earlier this month and used a fake prescription in an attempt to get narcotics.

According to Delaware State Police, the woman walked into several pharmacies in the area of Claymont and north Wilmington on April 1. In each visit, investigators say the woman presented a prescription for narcotics, but pharmacists found the prescriptions were forged after calling the doctors who were purported to have written them.

Investigators describe the suspect as a black woman who is 5'1" tall with an average to large build.

If you have any information about the cases, state police ask that you contact the Troop 2 Drug Diversion Unit at 302-834-2630, extension 347. You can also call Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
