Brides devastated about wedding venue's unexpected closure

Posted: Updated:

A wedding venue in the east valley has closed its doors unexpectedly, leaving dozens of couples high and dry. Not only do they have to find a new place to get married, many couples lost thousands of dollars.

In these pictures on her elegant wedding invitation, Theresa Tanner is beaming. That was not the case today.

"All I have is my prayer and my faith and God's going to make a way for us and I know he will," says Tanner.

With her wedding one month away, this tearful bride says she's stunned that wedding venue Inspirador is jilting her and dozens of other brides and grooms.

"Fourteen thousand dollars down the drain. Where's this money going to come from, to fund another wedding at another venue in 30 days?" says Tanner.

Also standing outside the locked wedding venue -- groom Joe Meyer. He was to be married at Inspirador October 5th.

"Without getting our money back, it's going to be hard to budget with half of our budget gone. We put down between $7,500 hundred and $8,000," says Meyer.

Jessica Turner is among the 60 brides to receive the email saying Inspirador had been wrongfully foreclosed upon and was closing immediately.

With her dress and decorations ready to go, it was stunning news. Her wedding is scheduled at Inspirador next week.

"I spent most of yesterday bawling in tears inconsolable," she told FOX 10.

Enter the fairy godmother -- the owner of a wedding venue in Mesa called Tres Bella.

"She had talked to all of her vendors and she herself decided to give us everything we needed at no cost to us, because she felt so sorry for us and our story and what we're having to go through," says Turner.

The wedding community has rallied around these couples.

Wedding planners, wedding venues, everyone is pulling together to see what they can do to help these brides have their wedding day.

This whole mess will now go to court and hopefully, those 60 couples will get their money back.
