CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

There are tracks through Sarah MacQuillan's lawn and into her home and SUV after a crash Monday night inside the Carriage Way mobile home park in Chestefield Township.  The driver was likely drunk.

"They just slid all the way in there and ruined her van, broke the frame and lifted it right up," said neighbor Elwood Kyle.

We're told the driver and her passenger took off running, but that is just part of this story.

As if it is not bad enough that MacQuillan's residence and vehicle are damaged, this is not the first incident.  In January, someone else missed the turn and almost hit a relative's car.

"It's ridiculous.  We have lots of kids in this community, and my kids' bedrooms are in the front, and now they're terrified to go in there.  They're afraid someone is going to go through their rooms," MacQuillan said.

Since 2011, she has sent letters to management and had neighbors sign petitions.  She said the speed limit in the park is 15, but some people are going much faster cutting down Carriage Way to avoid stop signs.

"Does someone have to get hurt before they do something about it?" MacQuillan said.

"I think we need speed bumps, and I've talked to the office about that before," said neighbor Robert Jones.

Management told us they will look into speed bumps, but for now they will use huge boulders to protect MacQuillan's house and a sign to slow down.

"A sign is not going to make them slow down.  That's not going to help the problem," MacQuillan said.

Speaking of problems, MacQuillan can't even drive her damaged SUV to take her autistic son to the doctor.  She is hoping the driver responsible at least has insurance.

"I really would like her to turn herself in.  She damaged not only a family, but I still am paying on a car I can't drive," MacQuillan said.

Chesterfield Township police say an interview with the driver is scheduled for Friday.  She will likely will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
