CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

The second suspicious package in two days on the Mag Mile has been found to be non-hazardous and Michigan Avenue is back open Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Police received a call of a suspicious package in the Pioneer Court area in the 400 block of North Michigan Avenue about 9:20 a.m., News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

The package was found to be non-hazardous, though Estrada could not confirm reports that the item was a stuffed animal.

All lanes of Michigan Avenue were still closed from Wacker Drive to Illinois Street, Estrada said. All lanes had reopened by about 12:40 p.m.

Buildings on the block were evacuated for about an hour, according to unconfirmed dispatch reports. The CTA also rerouted southbound buses around the area for nearly three hours.

The Michigan Avenue bridge was also closed Monday afternoon while police investigated the suspicious package.
