Laughter Is Best Medicine For College Student Suffering From Disease

Posted: Updated:

A local college student who suffers from a debilitating disease is proving laughter is the best medicine.

Blogger Shane Burcaw has spinal muscular atrophy, a form of muscular dystrophy that has confined him to a wheelchair since he just 2-years-old.

Shane relies on others for almost everything. But despite the insurmountable challenges he faces, the 20-year-old lives each day with a smile.

And while his disease is no laughing matter, Shane says it's the laughter that has helped his family rise above it.

You can watch the story by FOX 29's Dawn Timmeney in the video above.
