Planes clip each other at Newark Liberty Airport

NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

Two planes on the surface clipped each other at Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey Wednesday evening, according to the Port Authority.

No one was hurt in the accident, officials said.

The planes -- United Express 4226 and Scandinavian Airlines 908 -- returned to the terminal.

The Nashville-bound United flight, operated by ExpressJet, was an Embraer E145 plane. The Oslo, Norway-bound SAS flight was an Airbus A330 aircraft.

The planes made contact when they were taxiing for takeoff, the FAA said. The SAS Airbus was behind the ExpressJet when it turned right and its wing clipped the tail of the Embraer, the FAA said.
