NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

One man is dead after the commercial fishing boat he was in capsized of the coast of Southampton, L.I. Sunday afternoon.

According to Southampton Police, they received a call about a fishing boat in distress around 2:00 p.m. in Shinnecock Inlet. The Coast Guard was nearby and was able to save 42-year-old Scott Finne, of Eastport.

Finne was found clinging to a flotation device after the 45-foot vessel flipped over because of large waves.

The Coast Guard and Suffolk County Police located a second fisherman, 85-year-old Stian Stiansen of East Quogue. He was found on the beach on the east side of the Inlet around 3:00 p.m.

Stiansen was taken to Southampton Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:40 p.m.

The Coast Guard said there was a small craft advisory in the area because winds gusts had reached 25 knots and high waves.

The boat is now located on the beach east of the Shinnecock Inlet. Officials say it will be removed by the Coast Guard.
