How Your Parking Ticket Could Get You Free Noodles

No one in Philadelphia likes the sight of the PPA and those dreaded parking tickets.

One business owner knows the pain of the parking authority all too well.

The owner of Han Dynasty in Old City now wants to help ease the pain of a parking ticket for his fellow Philadelphians.

What's he doing? He's endearing himself to Philadelphians, FOX 29's Iain Page reported.

Han got a ticket while he was taking a nap in his car. So, his response? For a limited time, anyone who stops into his restaurant in Old City and shows him a parking ticket gets a free order of Dan Dan Noodles.

"That's a great move. I like it!" said Mark Comerota, of Old City.

That's what a lot of people we spoke to in Old City felt about Han's offer.

"I get tickets all the time in Philadelphia, so I probably have one now, and I will go find it and go cash in my free meal," said Liz Felton, of Old City.

"I think it's great because Dan Dan Noodles are delicious! I get 'em every time I'm here," said a customer, Joe Burdy.

Han is beloved in Philly and says this is his response to getting a ticket he doesn't feel is justified.

"PPA give you lemon, I give you aid," Han said.

Some customers find Han's offer really enticing.

"I'm not gonna go get a ticket for the Dan Dan Noodles. But I'm gonna dig up some tickets. I'm sure I've gotten one recently," Comerota said.

Han says he's tired of the PPA giving out too many tickets, and he doesn't have the time to fight the ticket.

Instead, Han said, "I'm gonna make everybody else happy after they get a ticket."

Comerota agreed, saying, "At least it'll make people happy about getting a ticket."

Other people we spoke to said it's a smart business move.

"I think it's a smart move -- turn something that's kind of silly and funny experience into an opportunity to have a little fun and bring people his way. So, I think it's a good move," said Dave Skalina, of Old City.

So, can a PPA officer take advantage of Han's offer?

"No. Hell no. I'll spit on it!" the business owner said.

Han says, as of now, his offer is only good at his Old City location. But he may expand it to some of his other restaurants throughout the city. Just don't park illegally to get the free noodles – see if you have some old tickets you haven't paid yet lying around, Page reported.
