Why You Really Need To Look Up From Your Phone Occasionally

Do you find yourself constantly on your smartphone? There could actually be a reason why we are all so glued to our phones.

You see it everywhere these days. People all over are more interested in looking at their smart phones than looking at what's going on around them.

It's dangerous, and officials are wondering if there's something they can do – to keep everyone safe.

How bad is the problem?

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says more than 1,000 people – a fourfold increase in seven years – were treated in emergency rooms last year in the U.S. after accidents while they were using handheld devices.

So, what can be done about to get people's eyes off their devices? FOX 29's Iain Page has more in this video report.
