CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

Testimony has concluded at a civil trial in Chicago pitting an 87-year-old investor against "Apprentice" host Donald Trump.

The judge had said she wanted closing arguments done Tuesday afternoon. But she pushed closings off until Wednesday after proceedings ran longer than expected.

The week-old trial stems from Jacqueline Goldberg's allegation that Trump cheated her when she bought properties at the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago.

She testified Monday she had qualms about suing the influential real estate mogul-turned-TV celebrity. But she added, "somebody had to stand up to him."

Trump took the stand for two days last week and adamantly denied Goldberg's allegations. Later, he told reporters that Goldberg is "trying to rip me off."

Goldberg is seeking the return of a $500,000 deposit and other unspecified damages.
