SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

American Jewelry and Loan is pleased to announce a book-signing on Saturday, June 22 from 5-7pm at American Jewelry and Loan in Detroit. This will be the first opportunity for fans to get their personalized and autographed copy of the book. Tickets are $35 per person and include:

  • Exclusive access to meet-and-greet event with Les, Seth, and Ashley Gold
  • 1 Autographed and Personalized copy of For What It's Worth: Business Wisdom from a Pawnbroker-not available anywhere before this date!
  • Discounts on Hardcore Pawn Gear
  • $20 Store Credit at American Jewelry and Loan

As a third-generation pawnbroker, Les Gold grew up in the business, dealing with custom-ers who could be unruly and violent as often as they were friendly.

Gold owns the fifty-thousand-square-foot American Jewelry and Loan, which serves more than 250 customers in Detroit every hour. He also stars in the truTV reality show Hardcore Pawn, now in its seventh season, with more than 3 million weekly viewers.

In For What It's Worth: Business Wisdom from a Pawnbroker (Portfolio, June 13, 2013), Les takes you inside some of his weirdest, wacki-est deals and steals. From the monkey his dad once took in to pawn to the deal he made for a stripper pole, Gold has no boundaries for what he considers to be part of his business.

Space is extremely limited to this book signing event and expected to sell out! Tickets are available now at www.pawndetroit.com or at the store, located at 20450 Greenfield Road in Detroit. The book is available on Amazon.com.

It's not just the styles that have changed with weddings over the years -- it's also the technology. Disposable cameras used to be the norm, but now there's an even simpler way for the bride and groom to get some candid photos of their special day.
