Police search for suspect accused of lighting girlfriend on fire

Police are looking for a 44-year-old man who allegedly lit his girlfriend on fire during an argument early Saturday morning.

When Ivan Rodriguez's 42-year-old girlfriend came home from a night out with a friend, police say he became upset with her and they started arguing.

During the argument, Rodriguez allegedly doused his girlfriend with gasoline and set her on fire.

Police say 30 percent of the woman's body was burned and people in the home, near 32nd Street and Loop 202, heard her screaming for help.

Rodriguez reportedly fled the scene in a 2006 black Volkswagen Golf 2-Door with Arizona License Plate AWB9669. Police believe he was burned during the alleged assault.

He's described as an Hispanic man, 5'10", 200 lbs, Brown hair, Brown eyes and is also known as Silverio Gonzalez Trejo.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, grey t-shirt with design on front, white baseball cap with black writing in front, white tennis shoes and may have serious burns to one of his forearms.

Police say Rodriguez should be considered dangerous and is believed to still be in the Phoenix area.

He was reportedly seen Saturday near 52nd Street and Thomas, 52nd Street and Van Buren and 51st Avenue and Thomas.
