Amber Alert canceled for kidnapped boy

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

An Amber Alert for a kidnapped 7-month-old boy has been canceled by the New York City Police Department after the boy was found unharmed.

New York State's Amber Alert system was activated after a woman kidnapped her own son from a New York City Children's Service facility on Tuesday afternoon.

Marina Lopez, 25, did not have legal custody of her 7-month-old son, Mario Danner, Jr. Police said she has mental health issues and has a history of violent outbreaks.

She took Mario Danner, Jr. from a location in Manhattan at about 3 p.m. during a supervised visit, police said. She made off on foot.

The NYPD say both mother and child were in good condition when they were found  Mario Darnner was taken to a hospital for a precautionary check-up.

Lopez was in police custody and was being questioned.
