DEARBORN, Mich. (WJBK) -

Just after 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, Fox 2 started receiving tips from viewers about an arrest at a car wash on 6000 block of Greenfield in Detroit.

They said Dearborn police rushed in and took a man into custody. Workers confirmed the arrest.

Fox 2 has learned the suspect was arrested on unrelated charges, but is being questioned about the Family Dollar double murder.

"We're following up on a lot of leads, but we're still asking for the public's help. We're partnering with local and federal law enforcement, and all our resources are into this right now," said Dearborn Police Lieutenant Douglas Topolski.

Investigators were back at the store on Michigan Avenue Friday where there is a growing memorial with flowers, candles, balloons and messages for 20-year-old Joe Orlando, who was shot and killed inside the store Monday night, and 20-year-old Brenna Machus, who was kidnapped and also murdered. An autopsy confirmed she died from a gunshot wound to the head.

"I just can't believe it. I can't believe someone would do something like that," Jamie Machus, Brenna's father, told Fox 2 after the discovery of her body in a wooded area near the Southfield Freeway Service Drive just south of Michigan Avenue. Police want to talk to drivers who may have seen any vehicle stopped on the side of the road heading northbound.

"Roughly from Monday night till yesterday (Thursday) morning, anyone that [saw] a car pull into the area, maybe had to slam on the brakes to stop for someone pulling in there. It's right before the exit for eastbound Michigan, and we'd like to hear from anyone that's seen a vehicle in there over the last few days," Topolski said.

Police are hoping for more tips, and now with Friday's arrest, they could be closer to justice for the two victims.
