Cancer Patient Donates Make-A-Wish Money To Food Bank

Posted: Updated:

A 19-year-old with terminal cancer gives his Make-A-Wish gift to others in need.

Andrew Rundle has been fighting bone cancer at a Roseville, California hospital for two years. Ever since he was 12, he dreamt of going to Ecuador as a missionary. After being diagnosed with cancer, Andrew's dream was going to come true when the Make-A-Wish foundation gave him a trip to a Christian mission in Ecuador. But Andrew was undergoing chemotherapy, and couldn't go on the trip.

That was two years ago, and now, Andrew's Sarcoma has become terminal.

With no way to go to Ecuador, Andrew decided to use his gift to help others. He donated the $5,000 gift over to a food bank.

"I've always felt better giving than receiving..." Andrew says.

His action has touched many, including the CEO of Make-A-Wish.

"To people who support Make-A-Wish, this will touch their heart in a completely different and special way..." reflects Jennifer Tolo, CEO of Make-A-Wish.
