Riley Cooper Back At Practice With Eagles

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Riley Cooper was back with the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday for practice with his teammates at the NovaCare Center.

Cooper's return came just four days after being excused from all team activities to seek outside counseling.

Cooper missed a total of three practices while undergoing counseling.

This stems from a tape released last Wednesday, which showed Cooper using racially-insensitive remarks toward a security guard at a Kenny Chesney concert in June.

Cooper held a press conference following his first practice back with the team against the New England Patriots.

FOX 29's Howard Eskin was there and reports that Cooper apologized to all of his teammates and took time to sign autographs after talking to media.

Cooper told the press, "I talked to everyone individually and, you know, I told them, 'I don't want you to forgive me, because that's puts the burden on you. I want it more so on the future and just watch my daily moves and what I'm doing.'"

Eskin said Cooper also had a pretty good practice today.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie also issued a statement late Tuesday afternoon. It reads:

"I want to make this clear; the words Riley Cooper used were totally unacceptable. His words may have been directed at one person but they hurt everyone. Riley has apologized to the team and community and has made a personal commitment to work hard to try and gain their trust and earn his position on the team."
