Chinese Zoo Passes Dog As Lion

A family was visiting the "African Lion" at a zoo in China when the animal started to bark, the Jakarta Times reported.

The People's Park of Luohe in Central China apparently put a Tibetan Mastiff in a cage that said "African Lion." The dog, which has really long golden fur, was disguised as a lion and put into the cage.

And this switch is apparently just one in many reported incidents. According to the International Business Times, the same zoo in Henan province has put a white fox in a snow leopard's den, another breed of dog in a wolf pen and replaced a snake with two river rats.

The zoo's staff tell the Oriental Daily that the real animals are away at other facilities breeding, and that the animals will return soon. But to people who pay money to enter the zoo, they feel a little cheated. The admission to the zoo is approximately $2.50 (15 Yuan).
