Cilantro recalled for possible Listeria contamination

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Buurma Farms, Inc. is recalling 465 boxes of cilantro due to possible Listeria contamination.

The cilantro in question may have been sold at Meijer stores. The product was also shipped to retail stores in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Listeria can cause fatal infections in children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. In pregnant women, it can cause miscarriages. Otherwise healthy people who are exposed to Listeria might experience flu-like symptoms.

Look for 4 oz. bunches with a Product of USA Buurma Farms #4889 labeled twist tie.

Consumers who may have purchased this product should return or dispose of the product.
