A contractor was buried in a trench he was digging, according to the Coatesville VA.
This happened today at around eight a.m. at the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Hospital on Blackhorse Road. The contractor was rescued about two and a half hours later and transported to Pioli Memorial Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
The contractor was installing an emergency generator and was digging a trench to do pipe work. The details are unknown at this time, but he ended up buried to the neck in the five foot trench that he was digging. His fellow workers dug him part way out, and the Chester County Rescue Taskforce did the rest.
After a one-two punch of snowstorms, we're left with bitter cold. Even with plenty of sunshine today, look for highs only around 30-degrees. West winds 5-10 mph with feels like temperatures in the teens. Bundle up and watch for icy patches on roads and sidewalks.
The cold stays with us for a few more days.
Then, we start tracking another potentially messy wnitry storm, set to arrive on Saturday.
