There's been a lot of controversy surrounding the medicinal use of marijuana. Some doctors say it has no medicinal value, while others say the drug can help patients cope with a number of ailments.
And that's exactly what a Mesa family is counting on. They're trying to give it to their 5-year-old son.
Zander Welton suffers from periodic seizures and autism. His parents say that Zander has had reactions to other drugs they've tried.
They've heard of other children who've had good experiences with medical marijuana, and call it their last resort. Zander just needs authorization from two doctors.
He would take it in the form of an oil.
