Cab Driver Robbed, Stabbed Repeatedly In South Philly

PHILADELPHIA -

Police now say a cab driver was stabbed almost a dozen times during a robbery early Monday morning in South Philadelphia.

One man is in custody. Now, police are searching for second suspect.

It happened at Front Street and Washington Avenue just after 1 a.m.

Investigators say two crooks stabbed the cab driver in the neck, chest and arms before getting away with about $200.

We're told the injured Freedom Taxi cab driver, despite his 11 stab wounds, drove himself to Front and South streets because he thought police would be there.

The 36-year-old victim is in critical but stable condition at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

The search continues for the second man, FOX 29's Kelly Hessedal reported live Monday morning.
