DETROIT (AP) -

Wayne State University in Detroit will remain closed Thursday due a continuing power outage in parts of the city.

The college campus shut down Wednesday following the outage about 1 p.m.

Following the outage, a number of downtown buildings, including City Hall, several courts and an art museum closed. Court hearings were postponed as courtrooms were plunged into darkness, and Detroit's downtown above-ground People Mover rail stopped running.
