CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Do you have a dehumidifier in your home? Gree Electric Appliances recalled more that 2 million dehumidifiers on Thursday because they pose a fire hazard.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the dehumidifiers can overheat, expel smoke and catch fire. They have been blamed for at least 46 fires.

The appliances carry brand names like Danby, De'Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima.

The affected dehumidifiers range from 20 to 70 pints. You can also check the model numbers to see if their product is part of the recall.

For model numbers, check out the commission's LIST:

They were sold in the U.S. at Home Depot, Kmart and Lowes between January, 2005 and August, 2013. Some of the appliances were also sold in Canada.

If you have one of these dehumidifiers, please turn it off immediately and unplug it. Call Gree at 866-853-2802 for a refund.
