Company Brings Gym To The Office

Posted: Updated:

As many of us spend more time at the office and less at the gym some companies are bringing the gym to the job.

FOX 29's Joyce Evans found one local business that went one step farther. They've brought the gym inside the office to use while you're working.

Getting motivated to workout can be tough enough. Finding time when work follows you off the clock is even tougher.

Then by the time you wait your turn. Well what if you could do it all at the same time?

Stephanie is on the job at and the treadmill at the same time.

Get this; her boss is actually the one who put her and her co-workers up to it, but why?

"8 hours of sitting on you're behind answering phone calls can be tough on the body," Stephanie said. "And you do that day in and day out, you don't end to be the healthiest person."

Then factor in the type of calls they're handling.

Located in Media, PA, Answering Service for Directors is a call center for funeral directors in every state, except Hawaii, and they even service parts of Canada.

"We deal with life's most difficult phone calls; we need to be mentally sharp and prepared for the call when it occurred so we're able to give the decency, the courtesy, the respect to the caller," Stephanie said.

The employees appreciate the same courtesies offered them by the Czcher family, second generation owners of ASD.

The Czchers carved out space where 6 call stations would be to put in two expensive treadmills and one cycling machine right inside the office fully equipped work stations.

It also adds up to cash for a different local charity each month.

ASD is not getting complaints to work a weekend or overtime and yes, they're already looking to put in more exercise work stations really soon.

Video games may be pure fantasy, but a violent action-adventure game called "Watch Dogs" has ignited a very real debate in one South Jersey community. Watch Dog allows players to adopt the persona of a James Bond-like computer hacker, chasing an evil mastermind. People say it's chock-full of foul language, sex and violence, features dark and foreboding backdrops. The latest version, which is due out this fall may be set in Camden.
