Video Shows Man Jumping Into Water To Revive Shark

Posted: Updated:

A fisherman takes "catch and release" to the *extreme after he jumps into the water with a 300 pound bull shark.

It happened off the coast of Lee County, Florida. The fisherman noticed that the bull shark that he had unhooked was still beside the boat, so he jumped into the water, put his arms around the shark and revived it!

"Now that's catch and release!" says one of the crew from aboard the boat, in the video footage.

Most anglers who catch and release just simply cut the line, then watch the fish swim away, but this angler went an extra step.

Bull sharks are one of the most dangerous sharks in the world. In fact, bull sharks are responsible for dozens of attacks on humans every year. Thank goodness for this shark angler, this wasn't another "farmer and viper" fable because there were no painful consequences.

The video comments on the video have been mixed. Some people really applaud the man for what he did, others are not that supportive. The negative comments mostly want the shark to be left alone.
