WWII Veteran Marks Important Milestone

Posted: Updated:
RENO, Nev. -

A World War Two veteran is celebrating a special milestone with his wife.

William and Marcedes Parsons of Reno, Nevada have been married for seventy years. They met each other in 1943, and within three days of their first conversation, they tied the knot.

William was shipped off to Pearl Harbor a few days later.

The couple says that the secret to staying together is taking it one day at a time.

"There's no magic words as far as being married 70 years. There's not magic to it. It's just something that happened, and we're still thankful for it," William said.

The couple's children say that they're parents are still madly in love with each other. William still calls Marcedes his bride every day.

The couple has four children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
