Woman’s Body Found Near Route 206

"Omg it's horrible I live two minutes from there..."

Word that a woman's body was found in a wooded area off of route 206 in Tabernacle,NJ spread quickly through a quiet rural town.

"It's scary to know something happened around here," Cameron Vena, a Tabernacle resident said.

For most of the day, investigators combed the crime scene for clues the police activity right down the street from the Tabernacle Inn attracted the attention of many who passed by.

"Our towns are real local, real close so when news breaks out like this everyone heard right away," Ryan Holbrook said.

Right now the case remains a mystery. NJ State Police say the body was found around 8-30a.m. on Monday by someone who was working in the area.

Police haven't publicly identified the woman, released her age or said how she was killed but they are calling this a murder investigation.

"It's unfortunate to hear and my heart goes out to the families," Michelle Murdock said.

Lisa Eckstein of Shamong said, "It's very upsetting we're all very upset around here and I hope they find the person who did this to her."

Officials have not identified the woman, but so far they have not confirmed she was from Tabernacle, NJ.
