NFL Star Launches Initiative To Protect Kids From Concussions In Sports

Posted: Updated:

A new effort is on to protect kids from concussions in sports. Former star quarterback Kurt Warner is teaming up with a Delaware County company, Unequal Technologies, to launch the "Play It Safe" initiative for youth football leagues and athletes.

The Glen Mills firm makes customized gear that they say is "state-of-the-art" in providing safety from concussions.

"In being an advocate of sport & game of football, I understand the risks, so I have to be an advocate as well to the idea of protection," Warner told FOX 29.

The company also cut the ribbon for the opening of its new headquarters in Glen Mills today.

Warner played for the St. Louis Rams, the New York Giants, and the Arizona Cardinals. He joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent, and he's considered by many as the best undrafted free agent of all time.
