And as we come together to party for a cause, the American Cancer Society will continue to save lives and create more birthdays by helping people to stay well and get well, find cures, and fight back against a disease that has taken too many lives.
The 13th annual Party with a Purpose is a spectacular gala event honoring Richard H. Rothman, MD, PhD, Founder of Rothman Institute. Over 500 guests will attend this gala featuring fine food, cocktails, entertainment, and live and silent auctions expected to raise more than $500,000 to support the American Cancer Society. The 13th annual Party with a Purpose Gala will help mark the American Cancer Society's 100th birthday by raising funds that support groundbreaking research, access to quality health care, lifesaving screenings, and more. Nationwide, nearly 14 million cancer survivors will celebrate a birthday this year because of the American Cancer Society's work to save lives from cancer. The 2013 event specifically will raise awareness for Sarcoma. Being rare, this type of cancer often requires complex medical and orthopedic surgical treatment at Sarcoma Centers such as the Rothman Institute's Musculoskeletal Oncology Center.
